What is your primary product or service?
Tax preparation
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I received a master's in accounting and part of that was a requirement to take two semesters of taxes. From there I just sort of kept at it. Started concentrating on just taxes about 15 years ago. Ten years ago started my own business.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We offer personal service. We attempt to make filing taxes as easy as possible. We offer reasonable prices compared to the big tax chains.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Just one and no plans to expand.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Best to use maps, but we are one block above MacArthur just off Fruitvale, three doors from Safeway.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, checks and credit cards.
Which areas do you service?
Our primary area is Oakland, San Leandro and Castro Valley, but we have clients in other states as well as from around the bay area. With the ability to scan/fax material, we can handle clients with having to actually have them come into the office.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Paul Thode is the chief cook and bottle washer.

Daily during tax season. Always by appointment.
